My Acoustic Guitar 🎸 Oh, I’ve Missed You!

One of the most frustrating behaviours I’ve developed with my Bipolar Disorder is the loss of motivation to play my guitar. I’m not anything to write home about or any good. I only started learning 6/7 years ago and then to have had a few hiatus’s thrown in due to my battles with my mental illness, I haven’t focused on or dedicated as much time as I’d of liked to my guitar.

But today I have picked up the guitar and played a few songs and enjoyed it. It wasn’t perfect nor my best performance, yet it had what I believe is paramount for me to progress.

EFFORT!

I can see from the video that I am at ease and at one with the guitar. If I’m giving something 100%, regardless of what it is, that’s all I can do.

I’m a 38 year old male who has recently been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. I have found it as a new chapter in my life that has opened my eyes to a whole new perspective on myself and everything around me.
